PERCEUR™ by VYCE · Wholesale for independent wine shops
The hundred-dollar corkscrew, without the hundred dollars.
The two-prong-and-worm extractor collectors reach for when the cork is older than the sommelier. Its U.S. patents expired in March 2026. We build ours to the same principle, and we sell it to you by the dozen.
PERCEUR (pair-SUR) — French for the piercer. The worm pierces the old cork first; the prongs follow.
One box is the minimum. Net-30 available to licensed retailers.
We suggest $40; we don't police it. Price it for your customers.
Ships from Las Vegas. Reorders ship free at two boxes or more.
Every shop sells old bottles. Every customer has snapped a cork.
Aged corks crumble on a plain worm and push through on a plain ahso. The fix has been known for years: anchor the cork with a worm, slide two prongs down beside it, twist and lift together. The cork comes out whole. Until this spring that combination was under patent and retailed north of $100. It isn't anymore.
Why mess with greatness?
The original two-prong-and-worm extractor is a superb piece of engineering, and every serious cellar has one or wants one. We didn't try to "improve" a design that didn't need it. We built to the same principle, kept the parts that matter, and changed the one thing that kept it off most shop counters: the price.
How to use PERCEUR
- Cut the foil and wipe the top of the cork. Old capsules hide crumbly cork; you want to see what you're working with.
- Pierce. Screw the worm straight down into the center of the cork until the stabilizer bar rests flat on top of the cork. Don't lift yet.
- Slide the blades. With the prong handle sitting over the stabilizer bar, work the long prong between cork and glass first, then the short one. Rock the handle gently side to side so the prongs walk down rather than push through.
- Seat it. Keep rocking until the prong handle rests on the stabilizer bar. The worm now holds the inside of the cork and the prongs hold the outside.
- Twist and lift. Grip both handles together as one, twist, and pull upward slowly, still twisting. The cork comes out whole. For a truly fragile cork, steady it with a finger at the neck for the last quarter inch.
Tip for the counter: keep one open on a demo bottle. The first time a customer sees a thirty-year-old cork come out in one piece, you've sold the box.
Built to the principle, priced for the counter
- Full-length hardened worm, sized for standard 750 ml corks.
- Dual hardened prongs, one long and one short, so they walk down the cork without tearing it.
- A handle you can grip with a wet hand, and a stabilizer bar that keeps the worm centered.
- Boxed individually for the shelf, twelve to a case for the stockroom.
